Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2024-08-04T21:25Z ( ACE: MAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
ACE: MAG
ACE: SWEPAM
Activity ID: 2024-08-04T21:25:00-IPS-001 (version 2)
Quality of ICME Signature: 2 (clear signatures)
Note: ICME arrival signature characterized by a sharp amplification of magnetic field components with Btotal increasing from the already elevated (by the previous arrival) 13nT to 20nT at 21:26Z. Simultaneous increases in solar wind speed from 368 to 416 km/s and in density to just under 14 p/cc at 21:56Z. A possible source could be CME: 2024-08-01T11:48Z. Our simulation for this CME does not show an impact at L1, but the CME could have been wider and more central than in our analysis.
